I recently found a crack in the wall of my Berlin art studio. A rubber mold was made of the form, and the mold was brought to Dresden during a residency. After spending some time in the residency building, I found a quiet part of the stairwell that is not so often used. A piece of the wall was chiseled out to match the form. Crumbled mortar dust was then mixed into a polyurethane cast of the form. The final cast of the crack was then merged into the structure of the existing wall.
